Fishing For MD (Muscular Dystrophy), or FFMD, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and offshore fishing team that has a strategic alliance with the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) whose purpose is “Fighting Muscle Disease”. Through fundraising activities, sponsorships and tournament winnings, FFMD aims to increase awareness for muscular dystrophy and related diseases that limit strength and mobility, while raising money to help MDA fund lifesaving research and support programs that will help kids and adults affected live longer and grow stronger.
“Recreational fishing is big business, generating more than $115 billion in economic output and more than 828,000 jobs. If fishing were a corporation, it would rank 51 on the Fortune 500TM list.“
“We are so grateful for Paul Robertson and his family and team at Fishing for Muscular Dystrophy (FFMD) for their partnership for over five years. Our collaboration to raise funds for kids and adults living with neuromuscular diseases is having a substantial impact on our research, care, and advocacy for over 300,000 families across the country – enabling them to live longer and grow stronger! Collaborating with the people at FFMD and the entire Sport Fishing community is leading to greater awareness of the urgent need for funding for cures, and we thank all of you for your generosity and drive to make progress together.”
